• what the fans see: Dean looks at Castiel with a mixture of love, excitement and... was that fear? Yes, Dean was afraid. Afraid that his feelings were becoming stronger, that soon they would be revealed. He lets his gaze linger for a split second too long, but he can't help it, he has denied himself these small pleasures for long enough. His lips ache to touch the angel's and Dean can barely stand it. He drags his eyes away reluctantly. This is not the time for distractions, the world is at stake. Once again Dean has to push his emotions to the back of his mind, and concentrate on being a hero. Gradually, his heart is breaking.
